Thanks for the feedback; we have developed a non-Cr passivation chemicals but we are encountering problems in the vibratory polishing of the surfaces due to corrosion prior to the passivation process.

To select proper finishing is only part of the problem. Your main problem is pretreatment. Magnesium with proper paint pretreatment can be used for many years without peel off effect. If you only paint the surface you will have peel off again very quickly.

I need to know the way to mirror polish the Mg-diecastings. We have tried hand polsihing and it seems to be good but the discoloration occurs as we try the vibratory finishing. Please advise.
